5. HOW TO AUDITION

STEP 1. COMPLETE YOUR AUDITION APPLICATION!
For all interested young performers, audition entry is FREE and open to all high school students in Sydney. An application form needs to be submitted which provides us with all the details we need to prepare for your audition and possible performance if you make it through to the Finals Showcase. Check out the form now to see what you need to prepare for your audition and submit it as soon as you’ve planned your performance act. The absolute deadline for this form is by Mon 5th October 12pm but note that you must also have your recorded video uploaded and emailed to us by then as well - so we encourage you to get your performance act organised and planned as soon as you can to get this out of the way.

STEP 2. GET YOUR AUDITION ONLINE VIDEO IN!
The Audition Application Form must be followed by your online video audition which is due by latest Mon 5th October 12pm. This can be submitted by uploading to a video onto YouTube and emailing it on a private link to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it making sure you type your Application Form Name and Chosen Performance Category so we can identify your act.

Video quality is not our concern, we are more interested in your performance execution. Feel free to use the humble webcam or video function on normal cameras. There’s no need to go to any expense for the online video audition process.

Please note, every audition video must be accompanied by an application form from Step 1. Remember, Mon 5th October 12pm is THE cut off line – your video needs to be uploaded BEFORE then (this can take a few hours). No videos/applications will be accepted after this time, so please ensure you don’t leave this till the last minute!

STEP 3. NOTIFICATION OF FINALISTS!
All audition videos together with their application forms will be viewed and assessed by an industry judging panel for the final selection of performers at the event on the 17th October. We can only put through 15 to 20 performance acts across the five categories on the night so give it your best shot! The finalists in each category (solo, group, dance, original works and instrumental) will be informed by email [link] on Friday 9th October so make sure you don’t forget to subscribe to the emailing list.
